Frequently Asked Questions
Projector or a big TV?
Depends on the room. Projectors win for size and cinema feel in rooms where you can control light; today’s 85–100″ TVs win for brightness, daytime viewing and zero maintenance. We’ll recommend based on your room, viewing habits and budget — we install both, so there’s no bias.
Do I really need Atmos ceiling speakers?
Need? No. Worth it in a dedicated media room? Usually yes — overhead effects are the biggest step up in immersion since surround itself. In a lounge room setup, a quality 5.1 or a good soundbar often makes more sense. We’ll tell you honestly which camp your room falls in.
Can you use my existing speakers and amp?
Absolutely. If your gear is good, we’ll build around it — clean cabling, correct placement and a proper calibration often transforms equipment you already own.
We’re building — when should we talk?
Before plaster. Pre-wiring during construction costs a fraction of retrofitting and gives a completely invisible result. See our new build pre-wire consultation — then we fit off and calibrate once you’ve moved in.
How long does installation take?
A lounge upgrade is usually half a day. A dedicated media room with in-ceiling speakers is typically a full day, sometimes two for larger rooms with projector and screen. You’ll get a clear timeframe with your quote.
How much does a home theatre installation cost in Melbourne?
